Winter vacation for schools in Delhi has been reduced from 15 to six days. The winter break will now begin on January 1, 2024, and continue till January 6 instead of January 15, a circular from the Directorate of Education said on Wednesday. The school winter holidays, however, have been reduced as a portion of the break was observed from November 9 to 18 as schools were closed during that time due to severe air pollution in the national capital.
โHowever, in order to ensure that our students are not adversely affected due to the poor air quality in Delhi, a portion of winter Vacation was observed from November 9 to November 18,โ the circular read.
โAll the Heads of Schools of Delhi are hereby directed to disseminate this information among all the stakeholders including the teaching/non-teaching staff, students and parents,โ the DoE said.
