Delhi Welcomes Diwali Day With ‘Very Poor’ Air Quality, Anand Vihar’s AQI ‘Severe’ – News18

AQI in the national capital deteriorated from ‘Poor’ on Wednesday to ‘Very Poor’ on Thursday when the city celebrates Diwali.

The national capital welcomed Diwali with ‘Very Poor’ air quality on Thursday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, AQI slipped from 274 at 8 am on Wednesday to 329 at 7 am today.

The city was seen covered with a layer of smog early in the morning. Anand Vihar recorded the highest AQI with 419 which falls under the ‘Severe’ category.

Yesterday, several areas in the city had an AQI ranging between 200 and 300 under the ‘Poor’ section, however, on the day the country celebrates Diwali, the air quality in various localities in Delhi deteriorated to ‘Very Poor’.
