In protest against the raids in Kanpur, the Press Club held a sit-in in Naveen Market, calling it an attempt to intimidate the media.
Demonstrations have started across the state in protest against Income Tax raids on different media institutions including Dainik Bhaskar. Journalists and different parties have lodged protests in many districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Moradabad.
Journalists demonstrated in Kanpur
There has been an uproar in the entire country regarding the Income Tax raids on Dainik Bhaskar’s offices in different cities of the country. Even in Parliament, the opposition parties staged a walkout, justifying this move of the central government. In protest against the raid in Kanpur, the Press Club held a sit-in protest in Naveen Market on Thursday, calling it an attempt to intimidate the media.
On this occasion, Kanpur Journalist Club President Om Mishra said that the government’s message is clear, those who speak against the BJP government will not be spared. Everyone should raise their voice against this. The journalists raised slogans against the state government by wearing black bands and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President, Prime Minister, Chief Minister and Governor to the ACP.
The spies took out a silent procession in Agra
In protest against the raid, Samajwadi Party in Agra expressed its protest by observing a fast of silence. The SP workers protested under the leadership of former Union Minister and National General Secretary of SP Ramjilal Suman. During this, senior SP leader Rizwan Raisuddin Prince said that the manner in which the houses and offices of the people of the fourth pillar of democracy are being raided, it shows the desperation of the BJP.
In protest against the raid, the Samajwadi Party expressed its protest by observing a fast of silence in Agra.
