Desi influencer critcises Indians for eating unhealthy breakfasts, ends up getting slammed for not minding his business.
In today’s era, there’s a growing awareness among people regarding the importance of maintaining healthy eating habits and how having a clean, nutritious diet can significantly benefit their long-term well-being. To achieve this, it’s crucial to steer clear of indulging in oily, junk, and other unhealthy food options. Numerous internet influencers have consistently been spreading this message, reminding individuals to stay away from unhealthy food choices. However, a recent incident involving a health and fitness influencer sparked controversy. When he echoed similar sentiments, he faced criticism from Desi users who argued that indulging in heavy, oily foods isn’t a daily occurrence. Sometimes, it’s just about enjoying a guilty pleasure, which poses no harm when done in moderation.
The controversy ignited when Chirag Barjatya shared a post featuring a picture of the beloved Desi dish ‘Chole Bhature’ with the caption, “Tell me a better breakfast than this.” However, Barjatya criticised the consumption of such food and questioned, “I will never understand how can people eat this tala bhuna highly salted no protein meal first thing in the morning.”

Following this, a wave of criticism flooded his comments section as people called him out for his viewpoint.
“They don’t do it everyday. Atleast I don’t. I ate this once or twice In a year and that is okay. What’s the use of working out everyday if you can’t have this once a year. Don’t indulge or binge. That’s my take. And everything in moderation is fine,” expressed one user. Another annoyed user commented, “Bhai, thoda lite le yaar. I respect you for your views, but you don’t need to necessarily criticize other ways of living to promote yours.”
“I think we are taking health issue too far and at extremes. No one eats it everyday. If one eats very very ocassionally let’s not be judgmental. May be once is six months,” argued the third user. And just like that, the backlash continued.
