In Barabanki, UP, the group of Kavandis clashed with each other over trivial matters. During this period, one was killed and two others were injured in the stabbing.
In Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, Kanwar pilgrims clashed with each other over a minor matter and a Kanwar traveler attacked his companions with a knife and killed a Kanwari named Vipin Kumar and two were seriously injured. However, the police have arrested Kanwar Yatri accused of the attack.
A batch of Shiva devotees from Hardoi was also going to perform Jalabhishek. This group met with minor dispute between each other in police station draft area. Then the matter increased so much that a Kavad traveler attacked his comrades with a knife. One Kanwar passenger was killed and two were seriously injured in this attack. Both the injured Kanwar passengers have been referred from the Barabanki District Hospital to the Trauma Center in the capital Lucknow.
There was a ruckus over a trivial matter
Karuna Shankar, a Kanwar traveler running away from the batch, told that from Hardoi district, we were going to take water from Lodheshwar Mahadev temple to Jalabhishek. A Kanwar passenger suddenly attacked with a knife after a gunshot, killing one and injuring two. Superintendent of Police of Barabanki Yamuna Prasad said that the police has sent the dead body for postmortem and the injured for treatment.

The main road connecting Barabanki-Gonda and Bahraich is full of Kand pilgrims during Mahashivaratri. Because on this route, Lord Shiva’s legendary Shiva temple Lodheshwar Mahadev is located, where millions of Shiva devotees bring kavand from far and wide for Jalabhishek.
