In Saharanpur, devotees gathered at the Shiva temple pagodas to perform Jalabhishek on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Devotees offered water to Lord Ashutosh amidst deafening cheers of Bam-Bam Bhole. Bhandaras were also organized during this period. Devotees offered Bel leaves, betel leaves, flowers, milk and fruits of Gullar etc. to Lord Shiva and prayed for happiness and prosperity of the country and family.

On Tuesday, on Mahashivratri, ancient Siddhpeeth Shri Mankeshwar Mahadev Temple located in village Manki, Siddhpeeth Shri Nageshwar Mahadev Temple in village Ghyana, ancient Baba Balagiri Mahadev Temple, Shri Elevenmukhi Mahadev Temple, Shiva temples and pagodas in the city and countryside to perform Jalabhishek from the morning itself. There was a gathering of devotees. The Shiva temple kept resonating with the shouts of Bam-Bam Bhole. Bhandaras were also organized by the devotees at various temples. At the same time, some devotees also keep fast on Mahashivratri. During this, there was a tight security arrangement of the police around the temples.
