Amitabh Bachchan almost died on the sets of the film Sholay, that too at the hands of Dharmendra. Amitabh Bachchan has narrated this funny story in Kaun Banega Crorepati 15. Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra were in the roles of Jai and Veeru in the film.

Recently, CRPF, DIG Preet Mohan Singh, who was a big fan of the film Sholay, had reached the hotseat of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15. When he expressed his love for Sholay, Amitabh Bachchan shared the story of his narrow escape on the sets. Actually, the story is such that to make the climax scene look real, director Ramesh Sippy had kept some real bullets on the set, which were to be used only in certain scenes. For the climax of the film, a scene was to be shot on Dharmendra, in which he fills fake bullets in the gun and fires it.

Dharmendra had become very angry after trying unsuccessfully to give the right shot about three times. When the same scene started being shot for the fourth time, Dharmendra was very angry. In such a situation, as soon as director Ramesh Sippy called for action, Dharmendra in anger accidentally filled the gun with real bullets and fired them at Amitabh Bachchan. Luckily Dharmendra’s aim was bad, due to which the bullets passed near Amitabh Bachchan’s ear and his life was saved. Let us tell you that Amitabh Bachchan was actually shown dying in the climax of Sholay.
