Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell came up with yet another flop show for Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Wednesday as he went for a golden duck against Rajasthan Royals in the playoff eliminator fixture between the sides at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The all-rounder has been enduring a terrible season this year and it continued as he was sent back to the dugout for a duck off the first ball he faced as Ravichandran Ashwin scalped the Aussie batter.

The dismissal also made Maxwell the batter with the joint-most number of ducks in the history of the IPL, alongside teammate Dinesh Karthik, both at 18 ducks.

Fans and admirers of the game took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to express their discontent with the Australian’s performance and have a laugh at his cost.

One fan posted an image captioned ‘Maxwell’s footwork’ taking a dig at Maxwell’s performance on the day.

Maxwell has been in abysmal touch and one user compiled his turnout in the last few fixtures, “Maxwell in 2024 IPL 0, 3, 28, 0, 1, 0, 4, 16, 0 Average : 5.77”

Another user posted an image captioned “Maxwell’s wagon wheel’.

One fan posted, “Ashwin official father of Glenn Maxwell” with an old image of Ashwin scalping Maxwell, back when they used to play fro CSK and PBKS respectively.
