The film has been postponed by a year, as per the reports.
The makers of the film are eagerly waiting for director Shankar to complete the shooting process.
The Telugu film industry is abuzz with anticipation as fans eagerly await the release of Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. However, recent developments have put a temporary halt to the film’s shooting, with reports indicating that the RRR star suffered a foot injury. Production is on hold until he makes a full recovery, and as a result, the film’s release has been postponed by a year.
Amid these updates, new rumours have surfaced regarding the film’s digital rights. According to sources, it is speculated that Zee5 has secured the digital rights for Game Changer.
If these reports hold, they signify a significant development in the distribution strategy for the highly-anticipated film, potentially opening up a broader audience base through digital platforms. Fans and industry enthusiasts are keeping a close watch on further developments surrounding this exciting project.
The streaming giant gained the digital rights of Game Changer by paying a massive price of Rs 270 crore.
The film directed by Shankar has once again delayed its release and is now expected to hit theatres either in January or the Summer of 2025. The shooting has been stalled and reportedly the entire cast is currently disappointed because of the delay.
Speaking with Pinkvilla, producer Dil Raju disclosed that they are eagerly awaiting for director Shankar to complete the shooting process and afterwards, the post–production phase will also require time. The producer said that they are aiming to have a Pongal 2024 release.
According to the producer, 70 per cent of the shooting has been done including the songs and action scenes. “Now, we have a few schedules for another 50 working days. If the content is correct, it will bring the audience to theatres,” he added.
It has been reported that the main reason for the delay is the director Shankar who is simultaneously shooting Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role.
Apart from Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, the film also stars Anjali, S. J. Suryah, and Jayaram in crucial roles. S Thaman is scoring the music of Game Changer while the lens work is handled by cinematographer Tirru and R Rathnavelu.
