This workshop has started today at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University on the theme 'Metadata Creation and Preservation of Manuscript Collection'.

The work of conservation of 96 thousand ancient rare manuscripts has started in Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. This work will be done in three steps. Listing in the first, conservation in the second and digitalization in the third. For this, a 15-day workshop started in the university today. In this, 40 employees are being trained for manuscript conservation work. These people will give digital form to 96 thousand manuscripts. The Ministry of Culture has released the first installment of Rs 5 crore under the National Manuscript Mission. All these manuscripts are kept in the Saraswati Bhawan Library of Sanskrit University. The foundation stone of Saraswati Bhawan Library was laid by Sarjan Hiwet on 16 November 1907.
