Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh turns 37 years old. Born on 6 January 1984 in Dosanjh Kalan village, Jalandhar Punjab, Diljit’s real name is Daljit. Father Balbir Singh was an employee of Punjab Roadways while mother Sukhwinder was a homemaker.
The financial condition of the family was nothing special. Even if Diljit was not good at reading and writing, the trend towards singing increased. He stayed in Ludhiana and studied till tenth standard. Took training in Indian classical music at local gurdwaras and started performing kirtan. Everyone would have liked Diljit’s voice while doing kirtan, people would have encouraged him to sing outside. After the gurudwara, Diljit started singing in wedding ceremonies.
Entry in Bollywood from ‘Udta Punjab’
In 2004, Daljit released his debut album ‘Ishq Da Udana Adda’. During this, he took the name from Daljeet to Diljeet. Debut from the film The Lion of Punjab in 2011, the film flopped but one of his songs was a super hit and for the first time the song Non Bollywood Singer reached the top in the BBC’s Asian Download Chat. In 2016, he entered Bollywood from the film ‘Udta Punjab’. It then starred in Phillauri, Surma, Arjun Patiala, Good News and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. During the lockdown, he released his music album ‘G.O.A.T.’
Positive about turban
It is said of Diljit that he is the first Sardar who has started working in Bollywood without leaving his identity. People used to advise him that he would not get any role due to the turban. On this, he says that no roll can be found, but he will not take off the turban. It is said about Diljit that he does not even like to audition for his role. While talking about the favorite colors of his turban on YouTube, many fans have also made several videos to teach him how to wear a turban. According to media reports, Diljit’s total assets are Rs 185 crore.
Diljit does not know English
Diljit is called his fans Urban Pendu. Urban means urban and Pendu means Pind. Fans consider them to be a mixture of urban and rustic. Diljit does not know English. Once in London, he could not give this reason in an interview with Vogue magazine. There were reports of his private jet buying in 2017 but Diljit denied it.
