Divisional Commissioner inspected various booths in Mirzapur: Took stock of preparations for Lok Sabha elections, said – proper arrangements should be made for disabled voters

Regarding preparations for the Lok Sabha elections in Mirzapur, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Muthukumar Swami B along with Deputy District Election Officer Shiv Pratap Shukla inspected various booths. The Divisional Commissioner obtained information about the preparations at the polling places of St. Mary's School in the city area. He stressed on making proper arrangements under the Model Code of Conduct. After this, inspection was done at each point at Primary School Pahari, Primary School Barkachha Kala, Former Girls Primary School Jamui Madihan booth. During the inspection, the Divisional Commissioner obtained information from the Deputy District Election Officer and the headmasters of the concerned schools about the facilities provided at the centers when the disabled voters come to vote. During the inspection, the Divisional Commissioner directed that special facilities should be available to the disabled voters and said that all the facilities fixed by the Election Commission of India should be made available to the disabled voters at every polling station of the district to ease the election process. So that voters do not face any kind of problem in voting. He said that at each polling station, arrangements for ramps and personnel should be made to take them from wheel chairs to the polling booth. On this occasion, Deputy District Election Officer Shiv Pratap Shukla gave detailed information about the facilities being provided for disabled voters at the polling stations.
