Novak Djokovic, the world’s number-1 men’s tennis player, has created history. He defeated 13-time champion Rafael Nadal 3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-2 in the semi-finals of the French Open. Djokovic has become the first player in the world to beat Nadal in the semi-finals at Roland Garros. Djokovic will now face world number-5 Tsitsipas of Greece in the final.
In this match that lasted 4 hours and 11 minutes, Nadal easily won the first set 6-3. Djokovic then returned to the match after winning the second set. The third set reached a tie breaker and Djokovic won 7-6. Djokovic played a brilliant game in the fourth set and Nadal defeated Nadal 6-2 to reach the final.
With this, he also broke Nadal’s dream of winning 21 Grand Slams. Djokovic also halted Nadal’s 35-match winning streak. Djokovic of Serbia has also become the first player in the world to beat Nadal more than once at the French Open. With this, Djokovic also avenged his loss in the French Open final last year.
