The film Lucky Baskhar starring Dulquer Salmaan has already created a significant craze among the fans. People in large numbers visited the theatre to watch the much-awaited film. Released on October 31, it received a significant response in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. It was reported that the ticket pre-sale went over expectations in the two states. However, the film failed to touch its expected mark in Kerala. It was earlier reported that Lucky Baskhar can register a ticket pre-sale of Rs 1 crore in the state. Made with a budget of Rs 100 crore, Lucky Baskhar reported a total global box-office collection of Rs 53 crore in 5 days. The trailers and teasers released earlier increased the expectations of the audiences significantly, leading to the collection of Rs 8.45 crore on the first day in India.
Set in the backdrop of 1980s Mumbai, the storyline revolves around the life of a cashier at a local bank. Due to some incidents in life, he faces some financial struggles which force him to make some drastic decisions. He was also denied promotion multiple times despite his dedication towards his work. He gets trapped in a risky investment scheme which brings more trouble to his life. He gets indulged in criminal activities which leads to a thorough investigation by higher officials. The film then shows how Baskhar gets himself out of trouble. It was reported that Dulquer Salmaan is playing the titular character of Baskhar.
Alongside Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary, the film also stars Ramki, Addanki Rohit, Maganti Srinath and Kishore Raju Vasisthain in prominent roles. Lucky Baskhar was produced by Sai Soujanya and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi while the cinematography was done by Nimish Ravi.
