According to the health department, the elderly couple are residents of Nehru Nagar area in Ghaziabad. After visiting many cities of Maharashtra, he went to Jaipur and from there returned to Ghaziabad on 29 November. During this, when his health deteriorated, he got the corona tested. He was found infected in the report on 2 December. In view of the travel history of the other state, the Health Department sent the genome samples of both to the Delhi lab for examination. Both have been confirmed to Omicron in the report late Friday evening.
35-40 people who came in contact negative
A health department official said that samples of about 35-40 people who came in contact with the elderly couple were also sent for examination. All these reports have come negative. According to the official, the elderly couple currently does not have any symptoms of corona. His second test report at the local level has also come negative. But due to the confirmation of new variants, full caution is being taken.
6-6 cases came in Gautam Budh Nagar-Muzaffarnagar
Many new cases of corona have been reported in many cities of western Uttar Pradesh on Friday. In this, 6 new cases have been found in Gautam Budh Nagar, 6 in Muzaffarnagar, 1 in Ghaziabad, 1 in Bijnor. The number of active cases has now increased to 29 in Gautam Budh Nagar, 26 in Ghaziabad, 13 in Saharanpur, 7 in Muzaffarnagar and 3 in Meerut.
