In Mirzapur, the railing built on the banks of the canal was broken by the water released from the pond, water entered the villages.

Villages were submerged due to breach of embankment in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. It has been raining in the district for 10 days. Due to which the water level in rivers, streams and ponds has increased significantly. The railing was built on the banks of the canal coming out of the Zargo pond. Which broke down due to the strong current of water. Due to which water entered the two villages situated on the shore. The paddy crop in the fields got spoiled by drowning in water.

Incessant rain increased the trouble
Zargo pond is located in Imiliachatti of Ahraura police station area. From which a big canal comes out. Many villages are situated on its banks. It has been raining continuously for the last 10 days in the district. There was a lot of water in the pond on Tuesday night. Which was simultaneously left in the canal. Due to the strong flow of water, the railing built on the side of the canal broke and got washed away. Due to which the water entered the villages. The houses of many villages including Khuta and Patita settled on the banks were flooded with water.

The fields were also submerged in water. Due to which millions of crops planted there got ruined. Paddy nursery was also flooded. Irrigation department officer and district panchayat member inspected the village. He said that the relief work would be started soon.
