Virat Kohli scored 11 runs in the first innings of Chennai Test and 72 runs in the second innings.
In the Chennai Test, the Indian team lost to England by 227 runs. During the match, in the second innings, Indian captain Virat Kohli appeared to be angry with the England batsmen. The reason was that the Batsmen were running on the pitch while taking runs. Kohli also complained to umpire Nitin Menon on this.
In fact, in the second innings Jofra Archer was seen running on the pitch for a run. Complicating this, Kohli’s voice was captured in the stump mic. He had said, ‘Oye Menon, straight run is also running in the middle man, what is this?’
English bowlers broke the rules many times during batting
According to the rule, no batsman can run on the pitch to take a run, because it spoils the pitch. If a batsman repeatedly breaks the rules, the umpire can impose a penalty on him. During the Chennai Test, England fast bowlers were repeatedly breaking the rules during batting.
Our game was not of that level as it should be: Kohli
After the loss in the Test, Kohli said, ‘Our bowling language and intensity was not of the level as it should be. In the first innings, the initial 4 batsmen did not go, but in the second half we reached a very good position. What we did in the match and what we could not do, we have to pay attention to them. We have to improve ourselves. England is better and more professional than us in Tests.
Kohli said, “This slow wicket was not helpful to the bowlers, which made it easier for the batsman to change ends.” Now we will try to give a tough competition in the next 3 Tests of the series. Things like this test will not let go of your hand.
