Along with his political career, the former MLA from Dakshina Kannada has also succeeded in agriculture and dairy farming.

Agriculture in India accounts for nearly 14 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), about 13 per cent of exports and supports half of the country’s population as its principal source of income (58 per cent of workforce). So, when a former politician of Karnataka, MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor continues with farming and dairy farming, he sets a good example and will further motivate others to continue with agriculture-related activities.

Karnataka’s Puttur’s former MLA, Sanjeeva Matandoor is engaged in farming and dairy farming as well. Despite being busy with politics, he still believes that agriculture provides sustenance, and loves to spend an hour a day engaged in agriculture-related activities. He has also set an example of how dairy farming can be beneficial.

Along with his political career, the former MLA from Dakshina Kannada has also succeeded in agriculture and dairy farming. Before venturing into politics, he used to rely on farming for his livelihood and later showed a keen interest in dairy farming. He figured out how to take care of the cows that his mother used to look after and found ways to make a profit from this.

Sanjeeva Matandoor used to obtain 30 litres of milk daily from his two cows at his home. Now, he has 12 cows and 9 calves. He has placed his faith in dairy farming and started a milk depot at Hirebandadi. When the depot faced a milk shortage, he decided to supply 100 litres per day. Even today, this former MLA is the highest milk contributor to Hirebandadi Milk Dairy.

Before becoming an MLA, Sanjeeva Matandoor used to milk the cows by himself. He used to be up by 5 am do his chores, cattle and agriculture-related work and then leave for his political work. Now he has hired workers to milk the cows. He is considered the perfect role model among the politicians who have bid adieu to agriculture after entering the arena of politics.
