Shenaaz Gill was relentlessly trolled for her bold outfit choices during Thank You For coming promotions.
Shehnaaz Gill reacts to netizens calling her out for her ‘rude’ behaviour after achieving stardom. She also reacts to being trolled for her fashion choices.
Shehnaaz Gill has undergone a drastic physical transformation following her stint on Bigg Boss 13. The ‘Punjab ki kudi’, as known by many, has emerged as a fashionista today. Her sartorial sensibilities changed by leaps and bounds as well. The latest example of the same is her edgy outfits during the promotions of her latest release, Thank You For Coming. In an exclusive conversation with News18, Shehnaaz admits to having a ‘desi’ image for the longest time and how it is taking time for the audience to accept her in a brand new avatar.
Hinting at how her upcoming projects will continue to portray her in this new light, she says, “People have a certain image of me wearing a certain kind of clothes. Since that has been broken, they’re in shock. They’ll take time to get used to this version of me. Acceptance takes time. It might take some time for them to understand that I can do things beyond looking just desi.”
Despite trolls and negative comments trying to bring her down, Shehnaaz reveals that she continues to read every comment on her social media. “It’s important for me to know everyone’s opinion of me. I want to know what the world thinks of me and how they perceive me. So, I read every comment on my social media. It doesn’t affect me but teaches me a lot. It helps me come up with ideas on how to further trigger their negativity,” she tells us.
The 30-year-old further continues, “I love doing the opposite of what people say. I love taking risks. If there’s no risk, there’s no fun. I need my life to be interesting and shrouded in mystery. Every time I see someone saying they don’t like something about me, I want to do exactly that.”
And so, being mocked for her style statements in Thank You For Coming and during its promotions didn’t bother her at all. Hoping to ‘inspire’ women with her choices, Shehnaaz remarks, “I want to tell people that even if they wear short clothes, they shouldn’t feel ashamed or embarrassed if they can carry themselves elegantly. What matters is keeping your innocence intact. People have a perception that a woman wearing a suit has a good character. But clothes shouldn’t be a parameter to assess or judge our character.”
Last year, the actor was relentlessly trolled for her ‘rude’ behaviour with the paparazzi with netizens calling out her behaviour. Reacting to the same, the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan actor states, “I don’t want to call out detractors because they don’t know me well. Some people even close to me sometimes think that I’m very rude. But their perception of me breaks when they meet me. But I can’t go on a mission to meet everybody so that their idea of me changes.”
