Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will reunite for the epic MCU film, Deadpool & Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman will finally make the long-awaited return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his beloved character Logan, aka Wolverine. Featuring opposite Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with the Mouth, the chaotic duo will share the screen space in Deadpool & Wolverine. After having exited the role with an emotional farewell with 2017’s Logan, Jackman eventually made a U-turn, opting to return as Wolverine, possibly through a game-changing mission by the Time Variance Authority. As the teasers and trailers suggest, Wolverine will engage in brutal fights as the two join forces against their enemies.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Reynolds opened up about Hugh Jackman’s physical prowess, further adding that he was amazed by the actor’s impressive agility at 55. While both of them did almost an equal amount of stunts, it is not surprising if it turns out to be a daunting task at their ages.
Ryan Reynolds Amazed With Jackman’s Action Sequences
During the conversation, the MCU superheroes sat down to discuss how it was to try looking like a superhero, as Reynolds adds, “We were trying to move like an even younger Tom Holland.”
As the Deadpool star began by lauding Jackman for how well he performed the physical stunts, adding, “I couldn’t believe his abilities,” the Wolverine actor described it as a “choreography.”
“You hit your marks with speed and confidence, the likes of which I have never seen. It was the first time I’d ever seen how invaluable background in song and dance is when you are doing an action movie,” Reynolds said, to which his Deadpool 3 actor replied, “There is a mix of relaxation and strength. It is basically choreography.” Further, Jackman also explained how his dance training has helped him throughout his career. “I had got to a point, I must admit, probably 10 years ago, where I was like, I am not enjoying it. It was hurting. It was tough,” he added.
Reynolds went on to praise Hugh further for his, adding that he even experienced “genuine fear.” “When Hugh Jackman is coming at you at 150 Australian miles per hour, you feel like there is no way you are not going to be dead in four seconds, and I will never forget that,” the actor joked.
Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 is regarded as 2024’s most-anticipated film, with its trailer becoming the most-viewed in MCU history. The film releases on July 26, 2024.
