FACT CHECK: This video of floating traffic signal is not from Hyderabad – Times of India

Video of a traffic signal floating down a waterlogged street is being shared with the claim that it is from Hyderabad. The clip has gone viral amidst the city witnessing heavy rains over the last few days.

The video is from China and over two years old. A traffic signal was seen floating in a rainwater-filled road.
On closely observing the video, we saw something written in a Chinese language on a scooter. Taking cue from this, we used relevant keywords and found a video uploaded to the YouTube channel of China Global Television Network (CGTN) on May 11, 2018.
Titled โ€˜Dramatic moment: ‘Walking’ traffic light gets swept down the flooded street in Chinaโ€™,. The video had the same visuals as the one shared in the claim above.
โ€œThe video, which was filmed in Yulin City of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, shows a temporary traffic light being swept down a street by flood waters. Heavy downpours have affected more than 70,000 people in 15 countiesโ€, reads the description given to the video.
