A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding withdrawal of NEET UG 2024 result and re-examination. The petition states that giving grace marks in the result is an arbitrary decision of NTA. There is no mathematical basis for giving 718 or 719 marks to students.

Actually, questions were raised on this since the NEET result was released on June 4. NTA had told in a press conference on June 6 that grace marks have also been given to many students. Students have approached the court against this.

Due to the continuous complaints of the students, NTA has also talked about re-checking the results of 1500 students. However, students from all over the country are still making new complaints on the social media platform X.

Failed in 12th board exam, got 705 marks in NEET
A user Pratik Aryan has shared the board marksheet and NEET scorecard of a student Anjali Patel in his tweet. In the board marksheet, Anjali has failed in Physics and Chemistry while in the NEET result she has got 705 marks out of 720.

This raises the question that if someone has low marks in board exams, then how can that candidate score so many marks in an all India level entrance exam like NEET UG, where the competition is not from any board or school but from more than 23 lakh students.

Student says- my answer sheet was torn
Aayushi Patel from Lucknow has shared her video on X. In this video, Aayushi told that when the result came on June 4, her result was not generated on the site. She thought that this might be a server problem, because more than 23 lakh students would be checking the result.

However, within 24 hours he received a mail from NTA. This mail said – The candidate’s OMR sheet is damaged, due to which your result has not been released.

He replied to the same mail the same evening i.e. within 24 hours and also sent a fax mail requesting that his damaged OMR sheet be sent to him.

NTA sent the OMR sheet on the same mail in which all the answers were clearly visible. This OMR sheet was completely damaged and looking at its QR it seems as if it has been damaged intentionally.

617 marks were obtained by matching the answer key, 340 were obtained in the result
Nishita Soni from Bhopal, MP has also filed a petition in Jabalpur High Court. Nishita’s father told Dainik Bhaskar that when Nishita compared the answers after the answer key was released on May 30, her marks were 617. However, when the final scorecard came on June 4, her marks were halved, i.e. 340.

Petition filed against not getting grace marks
On June 8, Tanuja from Rajasthan has also filed a petition in the Rajasthan High Court. She says that she was given the OMR sheet late and was taken back early. Despite this, she has not been given any grace marks.

In response to a petition filed in the Delhi High Court, the Delhi High Court has also sought a reply from the NTA on how there can be two answers to one question.

NTA had given answers to the complainants
After allegations of irregularities in the NEET result, NTA held a press conference and answered the questions of the complainants.
