Etawah: A farmer died due to heavy rain and lightning. While a shopkeeper got burnt. He is being treated in the district hospital. Along with this, one and a half dozen cattle of farmers have died in different villages. Akash fell at the house of former councilor of Bharthana area.

Sanjeev Kumar, a shopkeeper who makes a living by selling samosas on a cart, was injured when lightning struck near Mahera railway crossing in Friends Colony area. The injured shopkeeper has been admitted to the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Combined Hospital in the headquarters for treatment.

A dozen cattle died in Neverpur area and three cattle died in Bharthana area due to lightning. Similarly, the house of a former councilor in Vesauli Sadikpur village of Bharthana area was destroyed due to lightning while reports of cattle dying have also come from other areas.

Teams deployed to assess damage
Additional District Magistrate Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava said that one person has been reported dead in the lightning incident. While another has been injured. Information has also reached the headquarters about many cattle being killed by lightning in various areas. Several teams of the Revenue Department have been activated to assess the damage caused by lightning. After the Revenue Department’s report arrives, the process of giving compensation to the affected will be adopted.
