The farmers said, if water does not come in the canal soon, then they will agitate.

Farmer Arvind Singh, resident of Mangari village of Ghazipur, told that due to non-availability of water in the canal, wheat crop is not being irrigated. This is the first irrigation season for wheat crop. First irrigation should be done in 20-25 days after sowing of wheat crop, but irrigation is not possible due to canal being dry.

Irrigation with pumping set
According to farmers, the main source of irrigation is canal in dozens of villages like Kuanti, Kabulha, Nathupur, Barhapar Bhojuray, Semraul, Mangari, Daliparai Patti, Mahursa, Vijarwan, Makhdoompur, Jagdishpur, Gaura, Kaneri etc. Despite this, the canal gets cheated by the farmers every year. At the same time, rich farmers use diesel engines to irrigate them with pumping sets, but poor farmers are unable to irrigate wheat due to lack of water at this time. This worries them a lot.

Information given to departmental officers

In this regard, progressive farmer Arvind Singh said that many times information was given to the departmental officers through phone and email. Despite this, the result remained the same. He said that if water does not come in the canal soon, then we will agitate.

It will take 10 days for the water to come in the canal
In this case, Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Junior Engineer of Sharda Sahayak Canal, Lalganj Azamgarh told that at this time the work of cleaning the canal was being done which has almost been completed. Water has been released from the main canal just two days back, which will take at least ten days to reach the tail. At present the demand for water is high.
