Father said on Ishaan Kishan’s innings against Pakistan: Ishaan performed his responsibility well, maturity has come by being with the team

Question- How do you see Ishaan’s performance?
Ishaan’s father The top order batsmen of the team had gone to the pavilion. In such a situation, this innings of Ishaan was very important. At that time, Team India needed such an innings that a batsman standing at the crease could make a big partnership with scoring runs. Ishaan did the same with Hardik Pandya and took the team to a respectable score. Ishaan’s innings was much better as an innings buildup.

Question- Ishaan Kishan scored a half-century for the fourth time in a row. If seen, Ishaan has been showing a lot of maturity for some time now? How?
Ishaan’s father For some time now, he has been a constant with Team India in Tests, ODIs and T20s. In such a situation, it has been beneficial to stay with the players of Team India in international matches and interact with them. At the same time, he has also got the benefit of the experiences of international cricketers included in the team of Mumbai Indians (MI) during IPL. Because of which maturity is visible in his game.

Question- There is a high voltage match between India and Pakistan. In such a situation, there is pressure on the players as well. There was a conversation about this before the match, so what did you say?
Ishaan’s father We don’t talk on match day. We talked to him two days back. I told him that the match with Pakistan has to be treated like any other match. Just like the match with Australia and England, believe in the same way and give your best when you get a chance.

Question- When the top three batsmen of Team India Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer got out, what was going through your mind?
Ishaan’s father Like other Indian cricket fans, I was just praying that some batsman should come and stay and manage the Indian innings, and take the team to a respectable score by building a good partnership.

Question- There was talk of Ishaan Kishan batting in the middle order in the absence of KL Rahul. Was there any discussion on this when you talked?
Ishaan’s father My wish was always that Ishaan should bat at number five. Since he got the responsibility of opening, he used to play the role of opener. He did well in that position as well. Whenever I had a conversation, I used to say that if I get a chance to bat in the middle order, then I should fulfill this responsibility, whereas I think Ishaan fulfilled this responsibility very well today.

Question- The kind of innings he played in the crucial match of the Asia Cup, do you think he has confirmed his place in the team for the World Cup?
Ishaan’s father It depends on the team management. Neither I nor Ishaan thinks about it. I always used to tell him that you do better, the selectors will give you a chance. When the selection list comes, we see it on social media. If the son’s name remains, then there is happiness.
