Parth Samthan will soon be seen in Ekta Kapoor’s series ‘Main Hero Bol Hoon’ as a gangster. Recently, during a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Parth told how he smoked 25–30 cigarettes a day for his character, which he had become addicted to. During the conversation, he also shared some more things related to his personal and professional life. Let us know what he said:
Wanted to break the chocolate boy image
As an actor, I wanted to break the image of Chocolate Boy and so I immediately agreed to play the character of this gangster (Nawab). I wanted to do something new. Normally it takes me a month to understand a character but unfortunately I was shooting for this series along with ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ke 2’. It was difficult to play two different characters in one day, but now the situation is different. After Kovid, I gave all my time to this series which I enjoyed a lot.
Did not get my hair cut for 8 months
My director wanted a thin-skinned gangster because this character does not do any fighting or anything. He plays the entire game with his mind. This is the reason why I did not work very hard in my physical transformation. However, I had not had my hair cut for 8 months, which was very hectic. As soon as the show was over, I got my hair cut within two days. Believe me, my new friends who have become friends for the last one year may not even recognize me initially. Because they have always seen me in long hair.
Smokes about 25-30 cigarettes a day
I had never smoked a cigarette in my life but had to drink for this series. I had to be a hard core smoker for the character, in most of my scenes I appear to be smoking cigarettes. I used to smoke about 25-30 cigarettes a day because there would be 5-6 cigarettes in each scene. The most difficult thing was to get rid of this bad addiction after the end of the series. It is now understood how people become addicted to smoking. I am lucky that I had family members and friends around me who helped me to get out of it.
Anywhere I go, the contraption goes with me
The more I try to stay away from the control, the more I follow me. It seems to me that I am the only actor who has a relationship with the Controversy. Wherever I go, the contraption goes with me. There was a lot of controversy about me even when I was cried. I had followed every protocol of BMC, yet I was accused of breaking their rules. In which there was no truth at all. My reports had come negative, my doctors advised me to go out and I did the same. I left the house after 17 days instead of 14 days and people made a spectacle of it. Although I do not regret any.
Responsibility increased with recognition
The ‘criterion’ got a different identity and with this identity the responsibility also increased. Your fans now expect more good work from you. They compare to your old work. These are quite challenging but I am taking it very positive. I am trying my best to live up to the expectations of the people.
Single and happy
I am single and quite happy. I just want to focus on my work. Talking about marriage, my family now has my number for marriage. Think how much pressure my family members will have on me, though I explained to them about my industry. I am happy that now family members have understood how important a career is for me at this time. Where I felt that I now needed a partner, at that time I would think to date someone.
One way love i will not fall at all
My partner should look very beautiful as well as his beautiful heart. He must have good nature and it is very important to have a connection between the two. Many times it happens that someone loves you but you are not able to love him. I do not want that in my relationship. One-sided love is absolutely not acceptable to me.
