In Balrampur, the Forest Department is preparing a list of wood mafias of the last 10 years. In which it is being investigated which people have been caught in the case of cutting wood more than once.

According to the department, those who have been found continuously involved in wood cutting. Strict action will be taken against them as there is continuous deforestation in the area. That valuable wood is increasingly falling into the hands of forest mafias. But the department is not able to control it. For which a new plan has been prepared. After the Haraiya incident, the Forest Department has now started the work of examining the files of forest crime cases committed in a period of 10 years. If anyone is found continuously involved in crime during this period, action will be taken against him.

Cases of wood cutting are coming to light every day.

Cases of wood cutting are being detected every day in Sohelwa Wildlife Division area. From July 11 to August 11, one pickup, 143 bottles of well, 28 quintals of firewood, three bottles of rosewood and ten bottles of teak wood were caught in illegal felling in Sohelwa area. Apart from this, valuable wild wood was caught in Pachpedwa, Tulsipur and Jarwa areas.

After the case of wood cutting was detected in Haraiya area on Monday, the noose has now tightened. The forest mafia in the area is continuously trying to make the forest deserted by cutting it. Despite all the vigilance of the forest department, the forest mafia is carrying out the incidents without fear. By the time the forest department comes to know about it, they abscond. Although in some cases the Forest Department takes action, it remains nil. Keeping this in view, the Forest Department has prepared a new plan.

10 year old forest crime cases are being investigated

While giving information on the matter, DFO Dr. M. Semmaran said that the forest crime cases of the last 10 years are being investigated. During this period, if someone has been caught in forest crime more than once, a separate list will be prepared focusing on what he is currently doing, his condition and activities.

Such people will be monitored separately. Told that a separate list is being prepared to identify the forest mafia. Based on this, action will be taken in coordination with the administration.
