Former Indian cricketer and current commentator Ravi Shastri has responded to former England captain Michael Vaughan on his statement.
Recently Michael Vaughan had alleged that the ICC has made the schedule of T20 World Cup 2024 in favor of India. This statement was also criticized by Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin. Now former India coach Ravi Shastri has also responded to Vaughan.
Vaughan had said that deciding Guyana as the venue for India in the semi-finals in advance is unfair to the other teams. He had made a similar allegation on the schedule of the T20 World Cup semi-finals between Afghanistan and South Africa. On this, Ravi Shastri replied that Vaughan should first settle the England team. He should advise the team on what happened to England in the semi-finals.
Afghanistan lost to South Africa
In the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024, the Afghanistan team was bowled out for just 56 runs. The Afghanistan team performed brilliantly throughout the tournament. It reached the semi-finals of an ICC tournament for the first time. Vaughan had given a statement on this match on social media that Afghanistan’s flight to Trinidad was delayed. This gave them very little time to practice and adapt to the new situation.

The schedule was made according to India- Michael Vaughan
Vaughan wrote on the social media platform X after the Bangladesh match, ‘So Afghanistan team reached the semi-finals of the World Cup after winning on Monday night. On Tuesday their flight to Trinidad was delayed by four hours. They got no time to practice or acclimatize themselves to the new ground. Very little respect was shown to the players. Of course this semi-final should have been held in Guyana. But if the entire event was prepared for India then it is unfair to others.

I don’t think Vaughan has ever lifted the trophy- Shastri
Shastri said in a conversation with Times Now, ‘Michael can say whatever he wants. No one cares about what he says in India. He should have advised what happened to England in the semi-finals. I know England has won the cup twice but India has won it four times. I don’t think Vaughan has ever lifted the trophy, so think twice. He is my co-commentator but this is my answer to him’.
