Eminent academician and skilled professor
Former Vice Chancellor of Varanasi-based Kashi Hindu University (BHU) and eminent sociologist Prof. YC Simhadri died on Saturday in a private hospital in Visakhapatnam. 79 year old Prof. Simhadri was infected with post-Kovid-19 pneumonia. The news of his death created a wave of mourning. Honorary sons of BHU have paid tribute to them.
Apart from BHU, three other university vice chancellors were also Prof. Simhadri
Prof., who started his academic career as a professor of sociology at Andhra Pradesh University. Simhadri served as the 21st Vice Chancellor of Kashi Hindu University (BHU) from 31 August 1998 to 20 February 2002.
Pro. Simhadri was known as an eminent educationist and skilled administrator. He was also the Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Andhra University and Acharya Nagarjuna University. Apart from this, he also headed several other higher educational institutions. Apart from this, he was a visiting professor of several universities. He also worked with the United Nations, UNESCO and United Nations University.
