The series Showstopper is constantly surrounded by controversies. Some time ago there was news that Zeenat Aman’s OTT debut series Showstopper has been shut down due to lack of money, while now the makers of the series have filed a complaint against actress Digangana Suryavanshi accusing her of cheating crores of rupees. The actress is accused of cheating the makers of Rs 6 crore in the name of Akshay Kumar.

MH Films has stated in a complaint lodged against actress Digangana Suryavanshi at Amboli Police Station that the actress had assured the makers that she knows Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan well. She had told the makers that she would bring them as a presenter for the series showstopper. With this promise, she took Rs 6 crore from the makers to make Akshay the presenter of the film and now she has refused to pay the money. The makers have registered a case against her under sections 420 and 406 of the IPC.

Digangana threatened the makers

MH Films Production director Manish Harishankar’s lawyer Falguni Brahmbhatt told News18 that Digangana tried to extort a huge amount from the makers and when she was not paid, she threatened the makers of dire consequences if her demands were not met.

The actress also filed a case against designer and actor Rakesh Bedi

Apart from actress Digangana Suryavanshi, the makers have also filed a defamation case against her fashion designer Krishna Parmar and actor Rakesh Bedi. It is alleged that both of them have given false statements related to the show to the media, which has tarnished the image of their series.
