A young woman, upset with the non-arrest of the accused of gang rape in Gorakhpur, reached the DM office on Monday with a complaint. There her health deteriorated. She started vomiting and fainted. As soon as the victim fainted, there was chaos at the DM office.

The police was immediately informed about this. After this, ASP Anshika Verma and Cantt Inspector reached the spot. The police admitted the girl to the District Women’s Hospital for treatment. The family members say that the girl has tried to commit suicide by consuming poison.
But, SIC of Women’s Hospital, Dr. Jai Kumar says, the girl is physically very weak. She had not eaten for two days. She vomited and fainted due to exposure to sunlight. The news of her consuming poison is wrong.
The gang rape happened on 27 January
A 22-year-old girl from Brahmpur area lives in Humayunpur, Gorakhnath. She had gone to the zoo on 27 January. It is alleged that Himanshu, Rakesh and Ashish from the same locality gang-raped her that day. At first, the police did not register a case under pressure. But, when the girl went to court, a case of gang-rape was registered in April 2024.
The victim alleges that the police is not arresting the accused. The police is making her run around everyday in collusion with the accused. However, the accused are threatening the victim everyday. Hurt by this, she went to the DM office with a complaint. The family members say that she tried to commit suicide by consuming poison.
The accused will be arrested after the statement
ASP/CO Cantt Anshika Verma said, the girl had registered a case of gangrape in Ramgarhtal police station in April on the orders of the court. She never came to the police station when she was called to give a statement. On Monday, she suddenly went to the DM office, where her health deteriorated. Appropriate action is being taken in the case. The accused will be arrested after the statement.
