Water crisis has arisen once again in Kanpur. The barrage plant has been closed after supplying water on Friday evening. Water has not been supplied to 10 lakh people since Saturday morning. It will be closed for 4 days. There will be no water supply till September 19. Jalkal will supply water through 40 water tankers. The Jal Nigam started the work of making the leakage late at night.
Supply turned off to create leakage
The Jal Nigam supplies water to around 10 lakh people through main pipeline and zonal pumping stations in the city and south from the barrage. In this main pipeline of 1600 mm diameter, there is leakage in front of auto garage located near Vijay Nagar intersection and in front of Fazalganj fire station, due to which lakhs of liters of water is being wasted every day.
