Geeta Shakya has been made the Rajya Sabha Whip.
Uttar Pradesh Mahila Morcha state president and Rajya Sabha member Geeta Shakya alias Chandraprabha has been appointed whip in Rajya Sabha by the party. Regarding this, Geeta Shakya said that she will fulfill the responsibility given to her by the party with full honesty and integrity.

He expressed his gratitude to the central leadership and the party’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda. There is an atmosphere of joy among the BJP members of the district on being made the whip in the Rajya Sabha. It is known that BJP leader Geeta Shakya’s maternal home is in village Hamirpur of Bidhuna area in Auraiya district, while her in-laws’ house is in village Rampura Singhuan of Bharthana area in Etawah, but her political karmabhoomi is in Bidhuna area only.
She started her political journey by contesting the Pradhan election from her in-laws’ house and was also the Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Rampura Singhuan between the years 2000 and 2010. The Samajwadi Party fielded her in the assembly by-election in 2009, in which she was defeated. After this, she left the SP and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the year 2012.

She contested the election as a BJP candidate from Bidhuna constituency but was defeated, but she remained in the BJP and continued to work actively in the organization. During this time she held the post of regional minister of BJP and minister in the state’s parent organization. She was made the district president of the party. After that, the top leadership of the BJP rewarded her with a Rajya Sabha member. Just seven months after that, she was made the state president of the BJP Mahila Morcha.
