- Medical Education Minister announced – Madhya Pradesh will be the first state in the country to give insurance
Health insurance and personal accident insurance will be provided to the students of medical education studying in government / autonomous medical, dental, nursing colleges and government paramedical institutions. In this, the medical education student will be insured by the state government throughout their study period. The amount of annual premium for this insurance scheme will be borne by the concerned college. This announcement was made by Medical Education Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Friday. He claims that it is the first ‘medical education student insurance scheme’ in the country.
Sarang said that under the scheme, students will get 2 lakh mediclaim and 10 lakh personal accident disability and death cover will be given. Under this, more than 15 thousand students studying in government / autonomous government colleges under the Medical Education Department of the state will be benefited.
Under this scheme medical education students will be provided cashless card security for mediclaim by the selected insurance company. Through cashless card, medical education students will be able to get their treatment and examination done in any government / private hospital of the country.
Mediclaim will include treatment of critical diseases. Also, pre-existing diseases of the students will also be included in the mediclaim in the scheme. Due to the implementation of the scheme, students studying in government medical colleges and their families will not bear any financial burden in the event of illness.
Also, students will be able to participate in financial inclusion. It is worth mentioning that after the passing of epidemic like Kovid, the importance of this insurance scheme increases, because many medical students have also been affected by the infection of Kovid and in the nature of the work of medical students they have to suffer from many infected diseases. The chances are high.
