‘Google wants almost impossible goals to go after’: India’s $2,000 per capita income has to be accepted and problems solved for it

Is Google embracing a different talent playbook in a hybrid/remote world?

India is the capital of engineering talent. Google globally has many Indians across the board. But so far, you had to travel to the US to find a meaningful role from an engineering and talent standpoint. The last 18 months, are an embracement of this philosophy but based in India. We are having more and more teams based in India who are capable of solving problems from an engineering and product standpoint. In the last two years we have doubled the workforce in India and it’s been a time where we are a new Google today and our belief is that we will double in the next two years again.
