The Govt has capped the Covid vaccine price at Rs 250 per dose at private hospitals for the next phase of the vaccination drive that will start on March 1. The price also includes hospital’s user fee of around Rs 100. The next phase of vaccination will cover a large population above 60 years and those above 45 with specific co-morbidities. Vaccines will be free at Govt hospitals. In the first round of vaccination, the Centre had paid Rs 200 and Rs 295 per dose for Covishield and Covaxin respectively.
