On the initiative of UP CM Yogi Adityanath, the graduation classes in Mahant Avaidyanath Government College, Rasulpur Chakia Jungle Kauria will start from this session. Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University has already given approval for subjects to conduct arts, science and commerce classes in graduation here. Soon the admission process will also be decided. Meanwhile, by July, teachers and staff will also be deployed on 38 posts created to conduct teaching and office related activities.
Rs 83 lakh approved
CM Yogi Adityanath had given financial approval of Rs 83 lakh for the current financial year 2021-22 for the construction of the building of Mahant Avadyanath Government College, Jungle Kauria, Gorakhpur, before his visit on Wednesday. On his arrival in Gorakhpur, the mandate was also issued, according to which the funds can be used till March 31, 2022. Besides, Rs 2.34 crore has already been released for furniture in the college. Rajkiya Nirman Nigam is building the college. 28 crores have been released for this project of 30.35 crores. Regional Higher Education Officer Ashwani Kumar Mishra told that the graduation classes will start from the current session.
Classes will run for these subjects
Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University has given recognition to Mahant Avaidyanath Government College for undergraduate classes. In the Faculty of Arts, 8 subjects Hindi, English, Home Science, Education, Painting, Political Science, History and Geography have been permitted here. Apart from this, classes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany and Commerce Faculty are allowed in the Science Faculty.
Teachers will come after June 21
The Higher Education Department is recruiting subject wise 8 teachers in Arts Faculty, 5 teachers in Science Faculty, 2 teachers for commerce, one Principal, one Librarian and 21 non-teaching staff on transfer basis. Applications have been sought from interested teachers and employees till June 21. After that the deployment process will start.
22 years wait is over
On May 21, 2018, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had laid the foundation of Mahant Avaidyanath Government College as the third state college of the district. From the date of foundation stone, a new government college in the district was being awaited for the last 22 years.
Degree College in Campierganj was established in 1996
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Government College, Sahjanwan and Veer Bahadur Singh Government College, Campierganj are in Gorakhpur district affiliated to Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. Another school in the district was established in 1996 at Campierganj. There are 11 non-government aided colleges and 128 self funded colleges providing higher education in the district.
Girls will get the opportunity of higher education
Anita Agarwal, patron of Heritage Foundation, says that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given Gorakhpur district the third government college. With the construction of this college, opportunities will be available to the students to get higher education at least cost. Local people will not have to travel far from home to get education. Apart from arts and science, commerce classes will also be conducted in this college.
