Delhi-NCR has been facing an alarming air pollution crisis for a few weeks now, leaving people gasping for fresh air. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), air quality levels in both Delhi and Gurugram have plummeted into the “severe” category, with Delhi recording an alarming AQI of 494 and Gurugram at 469—over 26 times the limit recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). Amid this environmental emergency, Gurugram residents have shared striking images of “100 crore” flats shrouded in thick smog, making them barely visible from a distance, reminding people that luxury indeed comes with a price.

“Can you see the 100 cr flats? Pollution is a social equaliser,” wrote X (formerly Twitter) user while sharing a video on the microblogging platform.

Another user, Manu Joseph, shared a picture of high-priced flats in Gurugram with the caption, “The building in the smog is Camillias in Gurgaon, where air quality is officially poison. The flats cost 60 to 100 crore. There is something funny about that though I can’t put my finger on what exactly.”

A third X user joined the conversation and wrote, “What is the AQI in those 100 crore flats? Can be new selling proposition.”

“A game theorist must figure how the rich elites manage everything for themselves but funnily enough not clean air! How does that happen? Like how South Bombay’s rich have covered almost the entire space with magnificent concrete. But no green lungs. Co2 socialism!” joined a fourth.
