Indian actress and politician Isha Koppikar gained fame through her chart-busting item song in Ram Gopal Verma’s Hindi movie Underworld. She was branded as the Khallas Girl of Bollywood. She has done numerous films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages as well. Over the years, the actress has been featured in several portraying a variety of characters on the big screen. Her role in the Hindi horror film Krishna Cottage was widely appreciated by the critics and the audience. One of the most glamorous actresses, Isha Koppikar turned 47 today. Isha Koppikar began her modelling career with the 1995 Miss India Contest where she won the Miss Talent Crown. Her first appearance was in a Telugu movie which was titled W/o V. Vara Prasad in 1997. It was produced by Ram Gopal Varma and directed by Vamsy.

The actress’s first Tamil movie was Kadhal Kavidhai which came the following year of her debut in Indian cinema. She won the Filmfare for the Best Debut Actress award for this movie. She also appeared in three Kannada films which gained success at the box office at that time.

In 2000, Isha Koppikar appeared in the Hindi film Fiza which is still hailed as one of the classic movies of Bollywood. The film was directed by Khalid Mohamed and starred Karisma Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan in the lead roles. Isha played a small role in this movie. Then she went on to play a major role in the movie Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat which was directed by Rajiv Rai and starred Arjun Rampal and Sunil Shetty in lead roles. Isha Koppikar was paired opposite Suniel Shetty in this movie.

After playing brief roles in some Bollywood movies, the actress rose to fame through her item number in Ram Gopal Varma’s Movie Company. She earned the title Khallas Girl and also won the Stardust Award for The Most Exciting New Face for her Khallas Song.

In 2005, she was seen in director Sangeeth Sivan’s adult comedy movie Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. This movie was critically appreciated for its comedy and actress Isha Koppikar was nominated in three separate award ceremonies for the best actor in a comedy role in this film. The actress also played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s girlfriend in the movie Don. She was last seen in the 2022 Hindi film Love You Loktantra.

Isha Koppikar married hotelier Timmy Narang in 2009. She gave birth to their daughter Rianna in July 2014.
