Mithun Chakraborty was born on June 16, 1950, in West Bengal’s Kolkata. He completed his graduation with B.Sc. Chemistry from Scottish Church College in Kolkata. He always wanted to become an actor and soon, he joined the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

After struggling for many years, he made his debut in 1976 with Mrinal Sen’s art-house film Mrigayaa.
