So far 123 people have died in the stampede after the satsang in Hathras, UP. Out of these, 74 people died due to suffocation. The women and children who fell on the ground in the stampede were badly crushed and could not get up again. The bodies of 31 women were such that their ribs were broken.

There were 15 bodies whose head and neck bones were broken. That is why they died. This was revealed by the postmortem report of the bodies.

Two big questions emerged from the incident in Hathras. Know the answers to both the questionsโ€ฆ

1. Why were there more deaths?
The satsang was held on an empty ground. There was mud after a light rain. People slipped in the mud and could not get up. Then the people behind them kept trampling them. That is why there were more deaths. The bodies that came for postmortem had mud stuck on them. There was mud in the ears, nose and mouth as well.

2. Why did more women die?
There are about 113 women among the dead. There are 7 children and 3 men. According to doctors, the women fell after the stampede and could not gather enough strength to stand up again with the crowd. The crowd kept passing over them. This is the reason why most of the women were found with broken bones in their bodies.

123 people died in the stampede. These bodies were transferred from Hathras to Aligarh, Agra and Etah. Postmortems of 120 people were done in 24 hours. One could not be identified. Therefore, his postmortem was not done. 2 bodies were taken away by their families without conducting postmortem.

A panel of 6 doctors conducted 37 postmortems
First let’s talk about Aligarh. The first body arrived here 6 hours after the accident. 38 bodies arrived in a few hours. Among them were 35 women. There were 2 children and 1 man’s body.

1 body was taken away by his family without postmortem. Here reports of 37 people were prepared. Out of these, 10 people died due to suffocation. There were 19 bodies whose ribs were broken and had penetrated into other organs inside the body. They died because of this. There were 8 bodies whose head and neck bones were found broken.

Then the report of 21 dead bodies came from Agra…

15 women suffocated, 3 had skull fractures
Bodies of 21 women were brought to Agra’s SN Medical College for postmortem. CMO Dr. Arun Srivastava said – 15 people died due to suffocation. Blood was found clotted in their chests.

There was mud all over their bodies. 3 people had deep head injuries. There were 3 people whose ribs broke and penetrated their hearts and lungs. They died because of this. Among the dead, 3 bodies were from Faridabad and one body was from Pilibhit. Their age ranged from 35 to 60 years.

8 doctors and 6 pharmacists engaged in support
8 doctors were on duty at the postmortem house. The doctors would take a break after doing 4 postmortems. After the postmortems started at 3 pm, they continued till 2 pm the next day. 6 pharmacists and 10 sweepers were also put on duty for support.

All these postmortems were conducted under the supervision of ACMO Dr. Nandan Singh and Dr. Amit Rawat. Postmortem house in-charge Jaipal Chahar said- Dr. Anuj Gandhi, Dr. Vimal Kumar, Dr. Abhishek Parihar and Dr. Abhishek Chauhan were on duty at night. Dr. Uday Rawal, Dr. Mohit Bansal, Dr. Ajay Yadav and Dr. Atul Bharti were on duty during the day.

Postmortem of 34 bodies in Hathras

Blood was found clotted in the chests of 22 women
After the stampede, there was a pile of corpses in the district hospital of Hathras. CMO Dr. Manjit Singh immediately formed a panel of doctors. Which took the responsibility of treatment and postmortem. Postmortems of 34 bodies were done here. Blood was found clogged in the chest of 22 women. Mud was present in the ears, nose and mouth of most of them. The chest bones of 8 people were broken and had penetrated into other organs. Multiple fractures were found. The head and neck bones of 4 people were found broken.

28 bodies were found in Etah, 27 were post-mortemed

28 bodies were brought to the postmortem house in Etah. Out of these, 27 bodies could be postmortemed. The family took 1 body home without postmortem. According to the postmortem report, all the 27 died due to suffocation. There are injuries on their bodies. Multiple fractures have been found.

A team of 6 doctors worked for 24 hours
The postmortems were conducted under the supervision of Eta Medical College Principal Dr. Rajni Patel, CMO Dr. Umesh Kumar Tripathi, Dr. Suresh Chandra. The team of Dr. Rahul Varshney, Dr. RK Dayal, Dr. Abhinav Dubey, Dr. Mohit, Dr. Sanjay, Dr. Rahul Chaturvedi prepared the report on the exact cause of death.

After Bhole Baba’s satsang in Hathras, UP, Baba fled from there leaving people to die. He reached his ashram in Bichhua, Mainpuri with a convoy of 15 vehicles. All the three gates of the ashram built in 21 bighas were closed. Police force was deployed. DSP went inside the ashram at night. On coming out, he said – Baba is not inside.
