Radiologists or X-ray technicians instruct us on how to arrange our bodies to get clear images, which often results in pain or discomfort. However, in the case of smaller animals like hamsters and hedgehogs, their situation during an X-ray becomes hilariously tragic.

Demonstrating how hedgehogs undergo an X-ray, a video was dropped on X (formerly known as Twitter) back in 2021, December 21, which has rightfully grabbed many eyeballs online, again. “In case anyone wondered what a hedgehog getting an X-ray looked like,” read the post. While it is a mandate for humans to remain absolutely still during the examination, making animals understand the same logic is evidently in vain. But veterinarians and other animal professionals have discovered a unique strategy enabling them to X-ray an animal, guaranteeing that the image is captured as intended.

The picture captures a hedgehog lying flat on its back, with the animal’s protruded pink belly vulnerable to the radiologists. The hedgehog’s limbs are taped on the four sides, ensuring that it cannot move while its mouth remains agape. Although it might give the impression that the animal is being tortured, in reality, it is quite the opposite. In case the hedgehog turns agile, it is safely taped on the table to be examined properly. According to a report by Lad Bible, the snapshot of the hedgehog undergoing an X-ray was dropped by a radiologist, who goes by the name Dr Longissimus on X.

Flabbergasted social media users wasted no time to react to the picture in the comments section. “For a second there I saw a frying pan,” remarked one user sarcastically. “This made me smile.
