Chandrashekhar is the president of Azad Samaj Party and is contesting from Nagina Lok Sabha seat of Bijnor district.

The Home Ministry has given Y category security to Azad Samaj Party President and Nagina Lok Sabha seat candidate Chandrashekhar. CRPF personnel have been deployed for the security of Chandrashekhar since around 8 pm on Wednesday night. Chandrashekhar's PA Kapil has confirmed this to 'Dainik Bhaskar' over phone. Sources said that Chandrashekhar recently received a secret information that some miscreants of Meerut were after him. Chandrashekhar shared this information with the intelligence department. The UP Police report was sent to the Central Government. After which the Central Government has provided Y category security to Chandrashekhar from Wednesday. The Y category security cover consists of eight to 11 soldiers, including some commandos. It also includes two Personal Security Officers (PSO). Many VIP people in India are given this level of security.
