There are about 28 garbage dumps and small garbage points in the city under the health department of the municipality. According to the instructions of Chairperson Meenakshi Swaroop, EO Dr. Pragya Singh has started a campaign to close garbage dumps in collaboration with Mi2C, a company doing door-to-door garbage collection.
About 13 brothels, including the one near the district hospital on Roorkee Road, have been closed. At present there are about 15 water sheds operating in the city, most of which are located on the main roads, due to which an unhygienic environment is created in the city.
Every day will be settled properly EO Dr. Pragya Singh has issued strict orders to the City Health Officer, Chief Sanitation Inspector and Sanitation Inspectors. He said that the garbage around the dumping grounds located on the main roads should be disposed of properly every day. He also clarified that now instead of dumping the garbage coming out of the wards, it will have to be dumped at the transfer center established in Makhiyali. The EO has warned that if any sanitation worker or driver is found dumping garbage at the dump, action will be taken against the concerned area supervisor and sanitation leader.
