Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday challenged Congress leaders, Kamal Nath and Bupesh Baghel to take Rahul and Sonia Gandhi to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Sarma said both, Kamal Nath and Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel claimed they were Hindus and asked them to take the Gandhi mother-son duo to Ayodhya to prove the same.

“Kamal Nath ji in Madhya Pradesh and Bhupesh Baghel in Chhattisgarh say that they are also Hindus. I challenge them that if they are Hindus, then they should take Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to Ayodhya’s Ram Lalla temple once,” BJP leader and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said while addressing a public rally in Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur.

During a public rally in Madhya Pradesh earlier, Sarma called Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a “chunavi Hindu” (Hindu for election purposes).

The Assam chief minister mocked Gandhi and asked the public if they had seen the Congress leader visiting temples during the campaign for the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls. In reference to remarks DMK leader Udyanidhi Stalin’s remarks on Santana Dharma, Sarma claimed that the reaction of the opposition bloc INDIA would have been different if remarks were made against another religion.

Further mocking Rahul Gandhi, Sarma asked the public if they had seen the Congress leader visiting temples during the campaign for the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls.

Earlier this month, Sarma said if the Congress does not distance itself from DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s controversial remarks on Sanatan Dharma, it will ‘confirm’ the public’s perception that the party is ‘anti-Hindu‘.
