Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the India International Science Festival (IISF) – 2020 today. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan shared information about this through his social media account. PM Modi will inaugurate the festival through video conferencing at 4:30 pm. The festival will be inaugurated on 22 December to mark the birth anniversary of the famous mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. It will conclude on December 25 on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu will address the conclusion of the program.

Giving information about the sixth India International Science Festival, Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the year 2020 is very important for science. Harshvardhan said that IISF is an annual event. It is organized in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of External Affairs, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Vigyan Bharati as well as a large number of other organizations at the initiative of the Government of India.
This year’s theme ‘Science for Self-reliant India and World Welfare’
The theme of this year’s program is ‘Science for Self-reliant India and World Welfare’, which will showcase the contribution of scientific and technological efforts to accomplish the goal of Self-reliant India campaign. A large number of students, teachers, scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs and artisans will participate in this science festival. This time more than 1 lakh people have registered for this virtual festival. The four-day festival will feature 41 different events. 13 new programs have also been included in these. There is also a session on games and toys, whose focus is to develop a market for Indian toys.
