The BMC is in the news over the action of sabotage at Kangana Ranot’s office in Mumbai on just one day’s notice. On the other hand, he had regularized the action on illegal construction of 7 people, including Amitabh Bachchan, after hanging them for months. This has been revealed through a letter sent by South Manpa to RTI activist Anil Galgali. Meanwhile, BMC has sent a notice to famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
According to the information, there are 7 bungalows in Goregaon East. Notice was sent on 7 December 2016 to Amitabh Bachchan, Rajkumar Hirani, Oberoi Reality, Pankaj Balani, Haresh Khandelwal, Sanjay Vyas and Haresh Jagatani to correct the irregularities found in the approved plan. But the legal process continued till May 2017.
Regular construction made after completing the required process
In a letter sent to RTI activist Anil Galgali, the officer and assistant engineer directed the post of South Manpa ward office said that Amitabh Bachchan and others were issued notice under the MRTP 53 (1) Act for illegal construction. After that, he completed the necessary process and got the illegal construction regularized.
Illegal construction not intentionally broken
Anil Galgali, who obtained information through RTI, had sent a letter to the Chief Minister and the Manpa Commissioner, seeking action against the illegal construction while taking action under the MRTP Act, but nothing happened. After which Galgali alleges that Manpa intentionally slowed down the MRTP process and regularized these illegal constructions.
Manish Malhotra was given a week’s time
Meanwhile, BMC has also sent notice to famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra. He has been given a show cause notice for making illegal changes in his house. BMC alleges that Manish Malhotra converted the first floor of his house into an office without any notice. BMC has issued this notice on 7 September and has given 7 days to Manish Malhotra to reply.
BMC accused of discrimination
The BMC issued notice to both Kangana and Manish Malhotra for different time periods. While Manish Malhotra has been granted 7 days extension under 351 (1) while Kangana was granted only 1 day extension under 354. After which BMC is accused of being biased.
