The web series Showtime will stream on March 8. Its star cast included Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy, Shreya Saran, Rajeev Khandelwal and Mahima Makwana talked to Dainik Bhaskar.

Emraan Hashmi said that he likes Kangana Ranaut as an artiste, but it is not right for him to say that everyone in the industry takes drugs. Imran said that Kangana got an important role compared to him in the film Gangster. Whereas Kangana was new to the industry at that time, hence it is unfair to talk about nepotism.

Imran also talked about his serial kisser image. He said the serial kisser image was deliberately marketed. His films also benefited from this. However, with time it also caused losses.

Mouni Rai said that when she was a part of the TV industry, she did not get much attention. After working in Brahmastra, he started getting importance from the industry.

It is wrong to put the entire industry in the dock
Kangana Ranaut has been speaking on nepotism every day. After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, he raised this issue a lot. She has also been your co-star. What would you like to say about them? In response, Imran said, 'I like Kangana a lot as an artist. They may have had different experiences. I worked with him in the film Gangster.

He got a more important role than me in that film. Accordingly, he got good exposure at that time itself. That's why I don't think only those with nepotism get opportunities here. Although Kangana may have her own views, it is not right to put the entire industry in the dock. There would be only a few people in the industry who would be taking drugs. It is wrong to call the entire industry druggy.

Emraan Hashmi has been active in the film industry for the last two decades. In recent times, he has made a tremendous comeback through films and web shows.

There was politics in Sushant's case
On this issue, Rajeev Khandelwal said, 'We all are saddened by Sushant's demise, but at that time this incident was given a political color. If politics starts happening in anything, then the matter becomes different. No one around me said they would not watch films.

No one said that they would boycott the film industry. There was no significant impact on business. Films did good business even at that time. The only reason behind the films that did not work at that time was that their content was not good.

Rajeev Khandelwal was seen in Bloody Daddy with Shahid Kapoor last year. Now it is going to be seen again on OTT through Showtime.

Image of serial kisser harmed films like Awarapan
On hearing the name of Emraan Hashmi, the image of a serial kisser comes to mind. While he has also done serious roles in films like Why Cheat India, Shanghai and Tiger-3. What does Imran say about this? He said, 'The image of serial kisser was there earlier, it is not there now. My image was created like this through marketing. I don't even consider it wrong, because my films were benefiting from it.

The problems started when I started doing films like Awarapan. This is my best film till date. People still like it a lot. However, this film did not work at that time. The reason was that people could not accept me in that role. Perhaps my serial kisser image there harmed the film.

When I tried to change myself with time, people said that we want the old Emraan Hashmi again. However, now I have to play different characters. I can't fall back into my old ways.

Working in cinema was earlier a business, now it is a religion.
Cinema is not a business but a religion. What does Emraan Hashmi think about this tagline of the series Showtime? He said, “In the initial phase, working in cinema was like a business. This was just a means of earning money. With time, working in films became a religion.

There is uproar when TV actors fail – Rajeev Khandelwal
It is said about TV actors that they do not last long in films. Barring one or two names, no TV actor has been able to achieve great heights. On this Rajiv Khandelwal said, 'I have faced all this a lot. When big screen actors turn to TV and their shows do not work, no one raises questions.

At the same time, when TV actors turn to the big screen and fail, then there is an uproar. We must consider both situations. However now a lot has changed. Now the producer or director is concerned about your talent. No one asks where you come from.

Mouni said- Did big shows like Mahadev and Naagin, but got respect after working in Brahmastra.
Mouni Roy largely agrees that TV actors get more respect after working in films. He said, 'I had worked in big shows like Mahadev and Naagin. However, I felt that after working in Brahmastra, I started getting more respect. It also feels a little bad seeing this.

TV industry is like a home for me. TV has given me everything. Till just two-three years ago, casting directors used to reject me just by saying that you have worked in many TV serials, you are not suitable for films.

I think working in TV makes it easier to act in films. During the shooting of serials, 15-20 scenes have to be done in a day. Due to this, actors become adept to work in films and OTT shows to a great extent. Look at Mrunal Thakur and Radhika Apte. In recent years, after coming from TV, he has made a distinct place for himself here.

Mouni Roy, a famous TV actress, talked about the discrimination faced by TV artistes.

Shreya Saran said that actresses are asked how they manage to work in films along with raising children. This seems very strange. Shreya said- Earlier, big actresses like Sharmila Tagore used to raise children along with working in films. At that time such questions were not asked. Is this question asked to any male actor as to how he manages to work along with fatherhood?

An artist is not big or small, everyone should get respect.
Finally, we asked the entire star cast that if they had to make some changes in the industry, what would they be? In response, Rajeev Khandelwal said – Whether an artist is small or big, everyone should get the same treatment. We see that if a star is big then separate arrangements are made for him. Smaller artists are sidelined. This should not happen, everyone comes to do their work only. Every person present on the film set is the best in his or her own field, so everyone should be treated equally.

Shreya Saran said- I think more and more people should get opportunities in screen tests for films. It is everyone's dream to enter the industry. I want more and more people to participate in the look test so that they get more opportunities.

Shreya Saran is a well-known name in the South Industry. In Bollywood, she has appeared in Ajay Devgan's film Drishyam.

Mahima Makwana said, 'I think people should develop sensitivity within themselves. You should develop compassion within yourself. One should behave well with everyone, big or small.

Emraan Hashmi said, 'I would like some people to become disciplined. Try to reach the set on time. Be mindful of everyone's time.
