At first he tried hard to get rid of his son’s addiction, but when there was no improvement, the father killed his son by crushing his head with a chisel and a brick and threw the body near Turra drain in AIIMS area. However, the police arrested the accused father Dinanath Paswan.

“I will kill my father and take a government job,” son’s threat According to the police, after being arrested, the accused father Dinanath told that the son often threatened him that he would kill his father and take away his government job. Father is a fourth class employee in a government school in Kushinagar. This threat from his son broke him and he himself made a plan to kill his son.

On the night of 11 November, Dinanath had taken Vipin to Baharampur temple to pacify him. But when he went to take it back, Vipin started fighting with him. Enraged Dinanath killed him with a brick and chisel lying nearby.

There was an atmosphere of tension in the house due to the son’s alcohol and drug addiction. Vipin used to drink alcohol by selling household items every day. Because of that, even the younger brother’s marriage could not take place. Dinanath says that he was deeply troubled by this situation.

Father’s false story and police investigation On November 12, Vipin’s body was found near a drain. His father claimed that he had dropped Vipin at Baharampur temple a day earlier. But the police found the story suspicious. When the team of SP City Abhinav Tyagi and CO Cantt Yogendra Singh searched the call detail records (CDR) of the mobile numbers of Vipin and Dinanath, the truth came to light.

Investigation revealed that on the night of the incident, Dinanath had talked to several people on phone, while he had told the police that he was not even aware of his son’s disappearance. After this lie, the police detained Dinanath on the basis of suspicion and interrogated him strictly.

Father breaks down during interrogation, himself confesses to the crime The police put pressure on Dinanath by saying that his son Vipin had told everything before the incident. On hearing this, Dinanath broke down and revealed the entire incident. He told that he was deeply troubled by his son’s drug addiction and violent behaviour.

Arrested with evidence Dinanath made the police recover a blood stained shirt and the brick used in the murder from the crime scene. The accused was arrested from his house on Saturday. Police officials said that sufficient evidence has been collected against the accused and he will be presented in the court soon.

SP City Abhinav Tyagi said that technical investigation played an important role in solving this case. CDR not only exposed Dinanath’s lies, but his activities made the entire incident clear. Due to the intelligence of the police, this matter was solved in just a few days.
