Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the entire Test series against England due to personal reasons.

Team India has been announced for the last 3 tests against England. Virat Kohli will not be able to play the entire series, while Shreyas has also been ruled out of the last 3 Tests due to injury. On Saturday, BCCI Selection Committee announced the team.

Kohli had demanded BCCI to extend his break on Friday itself. Jasprit Bumrah will play the entire series. Akash Deep was included in the squad in place of fast bowler Avesh Khan.

According to media reports, on Friday the BCCI Selection Committee held a meeting to choose the team for the last 3 Tests. Even before the online meeting of the committee, Virat informed BCCI about his availability. After which he was kept out of the series. For the first time in his career, Virat will not play any match of any home test series.

Jadeja and Rahul made a comeback
All-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul, who were out of the second Test, returned to the team. Both could not play the second match after getting injured in the first test. However, BCCI still said that he will be able to play the third Test only if he feels fit.

Shreyas also out of the series
Shreyas Iyer complained of back pain in the second test. He informed BCCI about his injury, after which he was also kept out of the last 3 Tests. Shreyas could not do anything special even in the first two tests. He could not score a single fifty in 4 innings.

Bumrah will play the entire series, Siraj will also return
Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has taken 15 wickets in the first two Tests, will play the entire series. Mohammad Siraj, who could not play the second test, returned to the team. Pacers' Akash Deep was also included in the squad, while Madhya Pradesh's Avesh Khan has been released to play Ranji Trophy.

Patidar and Sarfaraz remain in the team
Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan, who made their debut in the second Test, also managed to retain their places in the team. With Shreyas and Kohli out of action, now one of Rajat and Sarfaraz may get another chance in the third test. If Team India decides to field one of the two pacers, then both Rajat and Sarfaraz can play the third test.

*Rahul and Jadeja will be able to play the match only after being declared fit.

The team is tied at 1-1 in the test series
The 5-match Test series is tied at 1-1. England won the first match in Hyderabad by 28 runs. Whereas India won the second match in Visakhapatnam by 106 runs. The third Test will be played in Rajkot from 15 February. Whereas the fourth test will be held in Ranchi from 23rd February and the 5th test will be held in Dharamshala from 7th March.

India won the last series at home 3-1
The last Test series between India and England took place in England during August 2021. The 5 test series was drawn 2-2. At the same time, the last series between the two in India took place in February 2021, this 4-Test series was won by India 3-1.
